Today: Increased Security in Jerusalem Ahead of Birkat Cohanim

Thousands of police officers will be spread out all over Jerusalem’s Old City on Wednesday in order to protect the worshippers headed to the Birkat Cohanim (Priestly Blessing) ceremony at the Kotel (Western Wall).

Tens of thousands are expected to flock to the Kotel on Wednesday. As such, only Muslim worshippers over the age of 50 will be allowed to enter the Al-Aksa mosque compound.
