Rocket sirens sound in northern Israel near the Lebanese border
BREAKING: Rocket sirens sounded in Western Galilee in Northern Israel, near the Lebanese border.
The sirens appear to be a false alarm.
In a statement, the IDF said the sirens were activated due to a suspected drone intrusion into Israeli territory, but that later turned out to be false.
The sirens came amid heightened tension in northern Israel. Earlier this week the IDF eliminated four Muslim terrorists after attempting to plant explosives near the security fence on the Israeli border with Syria.
Last week, the IDF thwarted a Hezbollah terrorist attack when a cell of four Muslim terrorists from Lebanon advanced several meters into Israeli territory.
The IDF called up reservists, deployed additional Iron Dome batteries and pushed the largest reinforcements since the 2006 war to the border with Lebanon.
