Revolutionary Guard bases continue to blow up: Huge explosion in the Iranian city of Mashhad
BREAKING: A huge explosion occurred in the city of Mashhad in northeast Iran.
The area is close to a base belonging to the Revolutionary Guards terror group.
According to local reports, the explosion occurred while Iran’s supreme Ali Khamenei was in Sa’d Abad palace in Mashhad.
Earlier, a fire broke out at a facility belonging to the Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company in southwest Iran.
There have been almost daily explosions around Iranian military, nuclear and industrial facilities since late June.
Iran threatened that it will retaliate if a foreign country is found to be responsible for the blasts.
A Kuwaiti newspaper reported that the blast on June 25 in Iran’s Parchin ballistic missile plant, a major weapons research, development and manufacturing center, was the result of an airstrike conducted by Israeli F-35 stealth jet.
Later, The New York Times reported that Israel is responsible for the blast at Iran’s Natanz nuclear site on July 2nd, by means of a “powerful bomb.”
Both attacks were aimed at Iran’s stock of UF6 (uranium hexafluoride) gas — a key component of the uranium enrichment process for both reactor fuel and weapons.
