DM Gantz enters quarantine – Israel reaches record 1,320 new coronavirus cases

BREAKING: Defense Minister Benny Gantz entered quarantine after coming into contact with a confirmed coronavirus patient.

“Gantz feels good and will continue to manage the ministry’s matters and the rest of his public work from isolation,” his office said.

“I feel great and plan to continue working as always, just from afar,” Gantz tweeted.

Israel saw 1,319 new coronavirus infections today, according to the daily report by the National Coronavirus Information and Knowledge Center.

The number of serious patients also increased significantly. There are currently 107 coronavirus patients in serious condition, compared to 86 as of Tuesday night.

This is both a new high in daily cases for the country and the third time in one week that the number of new diagnoses has exceeded 1,000.

Israel conducted 26,603 tests yesterday, with a positive rate of 5.2%.

Overall, 32,714 people have been infected, while active cases currently stand at 14,104. There are currently 36 intubated patients.
