Iraqi expert on Muslim terror groups murdered in Baghdad after receiving threats from Iran-backed terrorists

BREAKING: A leading Iraqi expert on ISIS and other Muslim terror groups has been shot dead in Baghdad after receiving death threats from Iran-backed terrorists.
Hisham Al-Hashimi (47), a former advisor to the government, was shot by Muslim terrorists outside his home and died a short time later at a local hospital.
Government sources said that it was a targeted assassination.
Al-Hashemi had written about ISIS and the role of Iran-backed terror groups in Iraq and was an authoritative voice on Islamic terrorism.
Al-Hashimi was a respected security analyst who appeared regularly on Iraqi television and whose expertise was sought out by government officials, journalists and researchers.
Weeks before his death, Al-Hashimi had told confidantes he feared Iran-backed terror groups were targeting him.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the murder.
His assassination comes as the government grapples with a spate of rocket attacks targeting US interests in the country, orchestrated by Iran-backed terrorists.
