Israel passes 1,000 new daily Coronavirus confirmed cases for first time

BREAKING: The Health Ministry reported 1,107 confirmed Coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours bringing the number of people infected with the virus to 9,618. Another 76 have been diagnosed since midnight.

Among the now 9,618 sick patients, some 70 are in serious condition.

The first days of July saw double the number of new COVID-19 cases reported during the full month of May.

The number of fatalities as a result of the virus has risen to 326.

Yesterday, PM Netanyahu reintroduced restrictions on public gatherings as coronavirus continues to rapidly fan out throughout the country.

Effective Friday at 8 a.m, event halls, bars, clubs and prayer houses will be limited to 50 attendees. Any other gatherings in closed spaces will be limited to 20 people.
