Hamas launches 20 rockets into the sea, threatens Israel over sovereignty plans
BREAKING: Hamas has launched more than 20 rockets into the sea over the last hour as a part of an ongoing drill aimed to show strength as the terror group threatens Israel ahead of the plan to apply sovereignty over Jewish communities of Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley.
Hamas and other terror groups and factions in Gaza called for a ‘day of rage’ on Wednesday in response to Israel’s plans to apply sovereignty over Jewish communities of Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley.
As part of a coalition agreement, PM Netanyahu and Benny Gantz agreed that the government can begin moving forward with applying Israeli sovereignty to Jewish communities of Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley after July 1, a move expected to enjoy backing from a majority of lawmakers in the Knesset.
According to President Trump’s Mideast peace plan unveiled in January, the US will recognize an Israeli application of sovereignty over parts of the Jordan Valley, Judea and Samaria following the completion of a survey conducted by a joint US-Israel mapping committee, and if Israel agrees to negotiate under the framework of the proposal.
PM Netanyahu met on Tuesday with Special Envoy Avi Berkowitz, US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, Knesset Speaker Yariv Levin and National Security Council Meir Ben Shabbat over continued developments in the region regarding the sovereignty plan.
