Shin Bet reveals how Hezbollah recruits Muslim terrorists in Israel
BREAKING: An interrogation of two Israeli Arabs revealed how the Hezbollah terror group in Lebanon works to recruit Israeli Muslims, as well as the identity of two Muslim terrorists from northern Israel.
Two Israeli citizens from the Arab village of Majd al-Krum were arrested for interrogation last month. The investigation revealed that Beirut Hamud, from Majd al-Krum, and her husband Bilal Bizari work for Hezbollah in Lebanon to recruit Israeli Muslims.
Muslima terrorist Beirut Hamud was arrested and interrogated in 2013 on suspicion of contacting Muslim terrorists that she had met at a conference in Morroco in 2008 as well as another conference held in Tunisia in 2012.
After the interrogation, she fled to Lebanon where she married Bizari. She works as a journalist for the Hezbollah-affiliated newspaper Al-Ahkbar.
In December 2019 Hamud met with two Israeli Muslim women in Turkey who were arrested earlier this month and interrogated by the Shin Bet on suspicion that during the visit an attempt was made to recruit them into Hezbollah by Hamud and her husband.
The Shin Bet contacted Bilal in Lebanon warning him that Israel is aware that they are recruiting terrorists for Hezbollah and that despite the press credentials that they possess, they should cease their attempts.
“The Shin Bet will continue to work resolutely to monitor and thwart any espionage or terror activities by Hezbollah. We take the exploitation of Israeli citizenship to aid terrorist and espionage activities very seriously” the Shin Bet said in a statement.
