First time in the country’s history: Direct flight from UAE to land in Israel
BREAKING: For the first time ever an Etihad Airways cargo plane from the UAE will land tonight at Ben Gurion airport in Israel after a direct flight from Abu-Dhabi, Israeli officials told Channel 13.
Israel and the UAE don’t have diplomatic relations or direct flights. In recent years, the countries have engaged in extensive unofficial cooperation based on their joint opposition to Iran’s nuclear program and its regional terrorism.
The Etihad Airways plane carrying humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian Authority and Gaza –mainly equipment for the coronavirus crisis, is going to be white, without the company logo.
The aid is reportedly being transferred via the UN.
