Syria: 4 Iran-backed terrorists eliminated in Israeli strikes – 3 civilians killed by anti-aircraft fire
BREAKING: At least four Iran-backed terrorists were eliminated in Israeli airstrikes targeting weapons depots and infrastructure belonging to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards terror group in the Damascus suburbs in the early hours of Monday.
In addition, three civilians were killed and four wounded by Syrian anti-aircraft shrapnel targeting Israeli jets during the strikes.
The Syrian military earlier said Israeli warplanes flying over Lebanon had fired missiles toward areas near Damascus, claiming the country’s air defenses ‘shot most of them down’.
Hours after the strikes, Defense Minister Naftali Bennet said: “We have moved from containing Iran’s military presence in Syria to expulsion.”
The attack marks the second Israeli airstrike in Syria in the past week.
Israel has acknowledged carrying out hundreds of airstrikes in Syria in recent years, most of them aimed at Iranian weapons depots and arms shipments to be headed from Iran to its Shiite proxy Hezbollah.
