The number of coronavirus infections in Israel has risen to 11,868 with 119 fatalities and 181 people in serious condition, including 136 patients on ventilators.

168 patients are in moderate condition and 9,402 have light symptoms.

2,000 people have recovered from the coronavirus.

PM Netanyahu announced on Monday evening that the government would reimpose a full lockdown on the whole country for the last days of Passover and the Mimouna, from Tuesday afternoon until Thursday morning, in order to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

The cabinet unanimously approved similar restrictions imposed for Passover Eve and the first day of Passover, including a total ban on leaving the homes.

“In addition to the checkpoints, hundreds of police vehicles and officers will scan all the routes across the country, while enforcing the restriction on traffic and identifying citizens who do not follow the guidelines,” Israel Police said in a statement.
“We emphasize, the public should avoid unnecessary encounters with the police and follow the directives so the public health can be maintained.”
