8,018 Israelis infected with coronavirus, 46 fatalities, 127 patients in serious condition
The number of coronavirus infections in Israel has risen to 8,018 as of Sunday morning, with 46 fatalities, 127 people in serious condition, including 106 patients on ventilators, and the vast majority of cases in light condition.
173 people remain in moderate condition and another 7,195 people are in light condition.
477 people have made a full recovery.
The latest fatalities are an 84-year-old woman from the Mishan nursing home in Beer Sheva and a 63-year-old man with underlying health issues.
Hospitals in Israel are treating 739 patients, 4,897 people are fighting the coronavirus at home. 693 people are currently in specially designated hotels and 1,166 are awaiting a decision on whether they will be treated.
IDF 98th Paratroopers Division and soldiers from the Homefront Command are distributing food to residents of Beni Brak. The highly infected ultra-orthodox city has more coronavirus per capita than any other city in Israel.
Roadblocks have been set up around the city and police officers have been deployed there to enforce the Health Ministry’s guidelines.
