3,865 Israelis infected with coronavirus, 12 fatalities, 66 in serious condition

The number of coronavirus infections in Israel has risen to 3,865 as of Sunday morning, with 12 fatalities, 66 people in serious condition, including a 20-year-old man without pre-existing conditions, and the vast majority of cases in light condition.

The condition of 82 is moderate, while 3,616 patients are in light condition.

89 people have completely recovered from the virus.

Twelve patients have died in Israel and one Israeli tourist died in Italy.

In the Arab territories of Judea and Samaria, 95 cases have been confirmed so far. One woman in her 60s died.

Israel’s government approved new emergency regulations to limit activity in order to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

The new guidelines are enforceable by police, include a near-total cessation of public transportation and a restriction on venturing further than 100 meters (roughly 300 feet) from one’s house except for the supply of food, medicine, essentials or medical reasons.

Some 650 IDF soldiers will be deployed at checkpoints across the country Sunday morning in order to enforce the new emergency regulations.

The troops will be armed and will assist with their teams in patrolling, isolating and securing certain areas, blocking routes and more.
