Momentum: IDF establishes new Iran Command in multi-year plan
The IDF will appoint a major general to head a new Iran command to be set up as one of the priorities of Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Aviv Kochavi’s “Momentum” 5-year plan.
Momentum plan aims to obtain a considerable military advantage over Israel’s enemies.
The Iran command will focus on analyzing threats and charting counter-campaigns against Iranian terrorism.
It will bolster technological means for fighter jets to destroy enemy targets, intelligence, intelligence gathering including by satellites, as well as bolster cyber capabilities, both defensive and offensive.
Momentum plan will include also the open of a new infantry division as well as close one tank battalion and one air force squadron in the coming year.
