Egypt: 8 security forces killed, 10 terrorists eliminated in northern Sinai – Air force bombing ISIS targets

BREAKING: Six Egyptian soldiers and two officers were killed and at least 10 injured in a major terror attack on a checkpoint near Shiekh Zuwied, a town between Rafah and Arish.

Earlier today, a military spokesperson said that the Egyptian army prevented a major terror attack on one of its security checkpoint in North Sinai.

Ten Muslim terrorists were eliminated and a vehicle used by the terrorists was destroyed.

“The search operations and the pursuit of terrorist elements are being conducted to eliminate them in the Al-Hadath region,” Col.Tamer Al-Rifai said in a statement on his Facebook page.

The Egyptian Air Force is currently bombing ISIS-linked terror targets in the area.

Hundreds of Muslim terrorists have been eliminated by the Egyptian army, backed by police and other security forces since it launched a wide-scale operation in February 2018 aimed at eradicating terrorists, mostly members of ISIS or ISIS-linked terror groups in the Sinai peninsula. The operation is still ongoing.
