IDF tanks open fire on Hamas positions in central Gaza in response to rocket fire
BREAKING: The IDF tanks fired shells towards a Hamas terror post in response to at least three rockets fired towards southern Israel.
“A short while ago, three mortar shells were launched from Gaza towards Israeli territory. In response, an IDF tank targeted a Hamas military post in southern Gaza”, the IDF said.
“A short while ago, three mortar shells were launched from Gaza into Israel. The IDF Aerial Defense System intercepted one mortar. As a result, an alert was activated in the Home Front Command app for open areas only”, the IDF said in a statement.
Since early this morning, seven rockets were fired by Muslim terrorists from Khan Yunis area into Israeli towns.
Three people were injured while running for shelter in Sderot, including a mother, child and a baby, who was seriously wounded.
“Rockets, explosive balloons and sniper shots were fired from Gaza into Israel throughout the day. We just responded by striking Hamas terror targets in Gaza including underground infrastructure used to manufacture weapons. We hold Hamas responsible”, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit tweeted.
