NY: 5 Jews stabbed by black supremacist Muslim terrorist at Hanukkah candle-lighting ceremony in Monsey
At least five Jews were stabbed Saturday night when a black supremacist Muslim terrorist armed with a machete stormed into a Hanukkah candle-lighting ceremony at a rabbi’s home in Monsey and began stabbing people.
Two of the victims are in critical condition.
The bearded terrorist, described as ‘a dark-skinned man’, fled in a gray Nissan Sentra. Authorities said late on Saturday that the vehicle and the terrorist were later located by the NYPD in Harlem, and he was arrested.
The scene of the terror attack is believed to be next to a synagogue, belonging to Rabbi Chaim Leibush Rottenberg.
Rottenberg is the leader of Congregation Netzach Yisrael-Kosson. Locals say that about 300 people pray every Saturday at his synagogue.
Reports indicate that Rottenberg was leading a candle-lighting ceremony for the seventh night of Hanukkah when the Muslim terrorist stormed into the house.
An estimated one-third of the 320,000 residents of Rockland County are Jewish. Rockland County is the county with the highest concentration of Jews in the United States.
The NYPD said it is increasing patrols “in sensitive [Jewish] areas.” The terror attack comes after a string of anti-Semitic attacks across New York City.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio tweeted, “We will NOT allow this to become the new normal. We’ll use every tool we have to stop these attacks once and for all. The NYPD has deployed a visible and growing presence around Jewish houses of worship on the streets in communities like Williamsburg, Crown Heights and Boro Park.”
This is the second attack on the Jewish community in Monsey in the last two months. In November, an Orthodox Jewish man was found critically wounded lying in the road after two attackers jumped out of a vehicle, punched him in the face and stabbed him in the stomach.
There are still no arrests in that terror attack.
At around 12:40am on Friday, a woman screamed ‘F*** you, Jews!’ and then slapped three other women in the face and head after encountering them on a Crown Heights corner.
The victims, who range in age from 22 to 31, suffered minor pain, police said.
Tiffany Harris, 30, was arrested on a hate-crime harassment charge.
Also on Friday morning, a Muslim terrorist wearing a hoodie walked into the headquarters of the ultra-Orthodox Lubavitch movement on Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights and stated he was going to shoot up the place.
At around 3:20pm on Thursday, a Brooklyn woman walking out of a Dunkin’ Donuts with her three-year-old son in Gravesend was attacked by Ayana Logan, 42, who hit her in the head with her bag.
‘You f—— Jew! Your end is coming!’ the anti-Semitic woman said to the victim.
A witness followed the attacker, leading to her arrest, police said.
