Israeli fighter jets bomb Hamas terror targets in response to a rocket attack from Gaza
HAPPENING NOW: Israeli fighter jets are bombing Hamas terror targets in Gaza after a rocket launched by Muslim terrorists towards southern Israel, was intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system over Ashkelon.
Additional explosions heard in central Gaza hours later, around 1 a.m. According to Arab reports, Israeli fighter jets targeted the new port in Khan Yunis with three missiles.
Another Hamas terror target was bombed in northern Gaza.
The IDF confirmed that warplanes and helicopters bombed a number of terror targets in Gaza, including Hamas terror compounds, in response to a rocket fired towards southern Israel.
According to reports, significant targets were struck tonight, including both Hamas and Islamic Jihad terror infrastructure that has not been struck in prior airstrikes.
A rocket was fired by Muslim terrorists in Gaza towards southern Israel earlier tonight while PM Netanyahu was campaigning in the city of Ashkelon.
The rocket was successfully intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system. No injuries or damage reported.
“On Hanukkah, the festival of miracles, Israel’s modern miracle—the Iron Dome—just intercepted a rocket mid-air after it was fired from Gaza at Israeli civilians”, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit tweeted.
