Terror cell behind the murder of Israeli girl Rina Shnerb uncovered – 50 Muslim terrorists arrested
BREAKING – Cleared for publication: During the past months, Israeli security forces have nabbed a terror cell of some 50 Muslim terrorists members of the PFLP terror group that carried out the bombing attack in which 17-year-old Israeli girl Rina Shnerb was murdered.
Some 50 Muslim terrorists members of the PFLP terror group have been arrested in the Ramallah area, the Shin Bet internal security agency revealed Wednesday morning.
The terror cell was also involved in two shooting attacks near the Jewish community of Beit El, north of Jerusalem.
The 50-member terror network was uncovered by the Shin Bet in September, as its terrorists were planning further terrorist attacks in the Ramallah area.
Most of the terrorists were arrested in recent weeks and interrogated by the Shin Bet.
The interrogatees provided credible information that led to the discovery and confiscation of several deadly weapons belonging to the PFLP.
These included M16 and AK-47 semi-automatic rifles, Galil assault rifles, Carbine rifles, Uzi submachine guns, pistols, silencers, ingredients to make bombs, assorted ammunition and communications devices.
“This intelligence work has foiled terror attacks on the verge of execution. If we haven’t arrived at the scene, the PFLP would have launched these attacks, killing dozens of people. The large number of firearms we found and information we received illustrate the dangers at hand and the high level of readiness to perpetrate terrorist attacks,” a Shin Bet official said.
Prime Minister Netanyahu praised the security services: “I commend the ISA, IDF and the Israel Police Special Anti-Terrorism unit for apprehending the reprehensible terrorists who murdered Rina Shnerb and wounded her father and brother. The long arm of Israel reaches all those who seek our lives and it will continue to do so.”
In September, the Shin Bet, the IDF, and the Israeli Police captured alive three Muslim terrorists who planted the explosive device near the Jewish community of Dolev, murdered Rina Shnerb and wounded her father and brother in August.
A fourth Muslim terrorist was arrested and identified as a student at the Birzeit University who was convicted of terrorism and served in Israeli jails.
One of the arrested, 44-year-old Muslim terrorist Samar Arabid was hospitalized in critical condition shortly after the interrogation. According to sources, the Shin Bet received permission from a legal source to use unusual methods in the interrogation, after it received a piece of timely intel that he planted another explosive device.
