US: Shooting attack at Naval Air Station Pensacola in Florida – Casualties reported
BREAKING: A shooting at Naval Air Station Pensacola in Florida left three people dead and ten others wounded before the gunman was shot and eliminated by law enforcement officers.
Seven people were taken to Baptist Health Care in Pensacola, hospital spokeswoman Kathy Bowers said.
Two of the injured victims were said to be in critical condition.
The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office said two deputies were shot and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
US officials say the shooter has been identified as an aviation student from Saudi Arabia. Authorities are investigating if the shooting was terrorism-related.
The shooting in Pensacola comes less than 48 hours after an active duty US sailor opened fire at Pearl Harbor’s naval shipyard in Hawaii, killing two civilian workers and injuring a third, before taking his own life.
