IDF: After massive rocket fire at Israel, we have just renewed attacks against Islamic Jihad in Gaza
HAPPENING NOW: Israeli fighter jets are carrying out retaliatory strikes following heavy rocket fire at civilians in central and southern Israel.
“After massive rocket fire from Gaza at Israel, we have just renewed attacks against Islamic Jihad terror targets in Gaza”, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit tweeted shortly after some 40 rockets were fired at southern and central Israel, including Rehovot, Yavne, Gedera, Givat Brener and surrounding communities.
“Our Air Force recently struck a number of Islamic Jihad terror targets in Gaza. We are highly prepared to continue operating as necessary against all attempts to harm Israeli civilians”, the IDF tweeted later.
According to the IDF, an Islamic Jihad command center and a naval training site were targeted. Arabs report six terrorists eliminated and ten wounded in the last wave of strikes.
Earlier today, the IDF said that the Air Force had targeted Islamic Jihad’s production of long-range rockets and warheads in Gaza, including its stores of raw materials.
An IDF vessel targeted an Islamic Jihad naval force used for training for future terror attacks. The IDF also targeted a military compound for Jihad naval force training that also served as a weapons warehouse.
32 Muslim terrorists were eliminated and dozens of terror targets bombed since Tuesday morning, as the Iranian-backed Islamic Jihad terror group continues to target Israeli civilians.
Israel’s Iron Dome defense system intercepted 90 percent of more than 400 rockets launched by Muslim terrorists from Gaza.
The rocket barrages were triggered by the targeted elimination of Islamic Jihad commander Baha Abu al-Atta in a predawn Israeli airstrike in Gaza.
