⚠️ Additional Iron Dome batteries deployed in central Israel
Israel’s security cabinet convened on Sunday in the wake of the latest barrages of rockets from Gaza over the weekend.
During the 4-hour meeting, the ministers received updates on the development on the southern border as well as the northern frontier and operational decisions were made without any objections.
After the meeting, the IDF deployed additional Iron Dome missile defense batteries in the Shfela and Gush Dan regions in central Israel, in preparation for a possible escalation and rocket fire towards Israel.
Muslim terrorists fired three barrages of rockets at Israeli civilians late on Friday. The IDF responded with a wave of pre-dawn airstrikes in Gaza targeting Hamas terror infrastructure, eliminating one Muslim terrorist and wounding two others.
The moment the Iron Dome Aerial Defense System intercepted 7 rockets fired from Gaza at Israeli civilians. 1 of the rocket struck the city of Sderot in S. Israel. “We are in a very sensitive and volatile security period on several fronts – north, east and south”, PM Netanyahu said at the start of the weekly Cabinet meeting.
“Hamas is responsible for every attack originating from the territory of the Gaza Strip. I do not intend to go into detail here about our plans. We will continue to take action on all fronts for the security of the State of Israel, both openly and covertly, on land, sea, and in the air”, Netanyahu added.
