WATCH – Israeli fighter jets bomb Hamas terror targets in response to heavy rocket barrages
Israeli fighter jets carried out retaliatory strikes on Hamas terror targets after heavy rocket barrages were launched by Muslim terrorists from Gaza towards civilians in southern Israel.
According to Arab reports, the IDF bombed a number of targets in central Gaza and west of Khan Younis.
Arabs report three Hamas terrorists wounded following the strikes in Khan Younis. One of them died later of his wounds.
Additional airstrikes reported in Rafah, in southern Gaza.
Lack of immediate retaliation for the terrorist’s death could indicate that the terror groups in Gaza are planning to initiate a bigger round of escalation.
“Israeli fighter jets have started striking terror targets in Gaza. This is in response to 10 rockets fired from Gaza at Israeli civilians earlier tonight”, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit tweeted.
“In response to rockets fired at Israel, we struck Hamas terror targets in Gaza including: naval force and training compounds, a compound with an anti-missile simulator, weapon manufacturing, storage sites, and underground infrastructures. Terror targets civilians We target terror”, the IDF added.
At least 20 rockets have been launched by Muslim terrorists from Gaza at civilians in southern Israel. Ten of the rockets reached Israeli territory. Eight of those rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system.
Code Red rocket sirens sounded in Sderot, Ibim, Erez, Gavim, Sapir College, Nir Am, Or HaNer, Erez, Nir Am Shooting Range.
A rocket launched by Muslim terrorists from Gaza struck the city of Sderot in southern Israel.
An Israeli family obeyed instructions and were in shelters when the rocket hit their house. There is damage but no one was hurt.
Some 600 Israeli children members of the Scouts were evacuated from youth camps in areas near Gaza tonight as concerns of escalation grow.
