The Heroines Street: Jerusalem street to be named after policewomen murdered by Muslim terrorists
A Jerusalem street will be named after Hadar Cohen and Hadas Malka, two policewomen who were murdered in the line of duty by Muslim terrorists in two separate terror attacks near Damascus Gate.
Over the past few years, a number of organizations contacted the Jerusalem Municipality requesting to change the name of Sultan Suleiman Street, where the terror attacks occurred, to The Heroines Street.
The committee responsible for naming Jerusalem streets is set to approve the proposal.
Border Police Cpl. Hadar Cohen, 19, of Or Yehuda was mortally wounded on February 3, 2016, when three Muslim terrorists attacked Border Policemen at Damascus Gate.
Hadar was part of a three-member squad patrolling the area outside Damascus Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem. They identified two suspects and asked them for identification, at which point one drew out a knife and began stabbing one of the policewomen.
Acting heroically, Hadar managed to shoot the terrorist, saving the life of her friend.
A third terrorist, previously unnoticed, opened fire with an automatic weapon, critically wounding Hadar. She was rushed to Hadassah Medical Center, where she later died of her wounds.
Border Police Staff-Sergeant Major Hadas Malka, 23, was stabbed to death by Muslim terrorists on June 16, 2017, in a combined terror attack outside the Old City of Jerusalem’s Damascus Gate.
Two Muslim terrorists opened fire at a Border Police force while a third terrorist brutally stabbed Hadas. She suffered critical injuries, was evacuated to the Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital, where she later succumbed to her wounds.
Hadas started her mandatory military service in the navy but later transferred to the Border Police, extending her mandatory service by 15 months in the process, after deciding she wanted to protect Jerusalem from terrorists.
Two years after her sister Hadas was murdered, Shaked Malka went in the footsteps of her older sister and joined the Border Police. She asked to carry the same rifle her sister was carrying. Muslim terrorism will never win.
