Iraq: 2 rockets hit outside the US Embassy in Baghdad
BREAKING: Two Katyusha rockets were fired towards the fortified Green Zone area of Baghdad, which houses foreign embassies, including the US Embassy, and Iraqi government buildings.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage, and no immediate claim of responsibility for the blasts.
Hashd al-Sha’bi terror group, an Iranian proxy in Iraq, was behind previous Katyusha attacks in the area.
The Katyusha multiple rocket launcher is an inexpensive type of rocket artillery that can deliver explosives to a target quicker than conventional artillery but is less accurate.
