Netanyahu praises Trump’s decision to impose additional sanctions on Iran
PM Netanyahu on Wednesday praised President Trump’s decision to increase sanctions on Iran.
“Iran’s aggression has increased lately, including in the Gulf, and this is precisely the time to increase pressure and sanctions. I am pleased that President Trump has done exactly that”, Netanyahu said in a video statement.
President Trump said Wednesday that his administration would be announcing sanctions on Iran “over the next 48 hours.”
He also said that his “thinking pretty much remains the same” on the recent attack on Saudi Arabia.
Trump said that the US is monitoring the situation in the Middle East closely, adding, “My thinking pretty much remains the same and we haven’t learned much that we didn’t know.”
Earlier today, Saudi Arabia’s defense ministry has shown off the wreckage of drones and cruise missiles that proves Iranian involvement in weekend attacks on two oil facilities.
“In an official note to the United States via Swiss embassy, Iran has reiterated that it was not behind attacks on Saudi Arabia’s oil facilities and it has warned that any move by America against Iran will get immediate reaction,” ISNA reported.
