⚠️ IDF raises level of alert in southern Israel
The IDF has raised its level of alert in southern Israel ahead of the violent weekly riots along the Gaza border, continued threats by Hamas and Islamic Jihad terror groups, and the upcoming elections.
PM Netanyahu on Thursday said Israel would likely be forced to go to war in Gaza in the near future following escalating tensions on the southern front in recent weeks.
“There probably won’t be a choice but to launch an operation, a war with the terror forces in Gaza. There probably won’t be a choice but to topple the Hamas regime. Hamas doesn’t exert its sovereignty in Gaza and doesn’t prevent attacks,” Netanyahu said.
Rockets have been fired by Muslim terrorists at civilians in southern Israel several times over the past week.
Rockets were fired by Muslim terrorists in Gaza towards Ashkelon, Mavki’im, Kibbutz Yad Mordechai and Netiv Ha’asara on Wednesday afternoon.
Five rockets were launched from Gaza into the cities of Ashdod and Ashkelon on Tuesday evening, while PM Netanyahu and Avigdor Liberman were in the middle of campaign speeches in Ashdod.
