IDF reveals: These are the Iranians running Hezbollah’s precision missile project in Lebanon
“These 3 Iranian commanders are working on a secret¹ project with Hezbollah to manufacture precision-guided missiles to attack Israel.
— ¹not so secret anymore”, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit tweeted on Thursday.
Senior Iranian and Hezbollah terrorists have been working on an expensive and classified project since 2013, attempting to build factories to produce precision missiles in South Lebanon, Beirut and Bekaa.
Iran has intensified its efforts to establish facilities capable of producing precision-guided missiles in Lebanon in recent weeks.
“Between 2013- 2015, under the auspices of the Syrian civil war, Iran began its efforts to transport ready-to-use precision-guided missiles from Iran, via Syria, to the terror organization Hezbollah in Lebanon,” the IDF said.
“Iran and Israel don’t share a border,” the IDF noted, “so Iran came to a country that does. They strategically built weapons manufacturing sites in civilian areas in Lebanon using the people of Lebanon as human shields while preparing to attack the people of Israel,” the IDF added.
“If terror groups get access to precision-guided missiles, they’ll be able to remotely attack any target of their choice. We won’t let Hezbollah get their hands on these weapons, because if they become the first, they won’t be the last.”
Saturday night Israeli fighter jets and drones targeted Iranian-backed terrorists who were preparing to advance attack plans targeting sites in Israel from within Syria over the last days.
According to a London-based monitor, at least five Muslim terrorists were eliminated in the strikes, including two Hezbollah members, an IRGC terrorist and two others who were not immediately identified.
The IDF identified two of those eliminated as Lebanese nationals Hassan Yousef Zabeeb, 23, from the town of Nabatieh, and Yasser Ahmad Daher, 22, of Blida.
On Sunday, the IDF released surveillance footage of Iranian Quds Force terrorists in Syria carrying an explosive-laden drone that they intended to use for an attack on Israel.
“How do you foil an attack of killer drones? Killer intel”, the IDF tweeted.
During Nasrallah’s speech, a field commander in the Iranian-backed Hezbollah terror group was eliminated in a strike by an unidentified drone along a highway near the Syria-Iraq border.
