Israeli fighter jets bomb Hamas terror targets in response to rocket attack from Gaza
Israeli fighter jets carried out retaliatory strikes targeting Hamas terror infrastructure in northern and central Gaza after a rocket launched by Muslim terrorists towards southern Israel was intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system.
According to Arab reports, the IDF struck Hamas infrastructure at the East Jabalya cemetery.
Shortly after the rocket attack, IDF tanks shelled same Hamas terror post in Jabalya.
“A rocket was launched from Gaza at Israeli civilians earlier tonight. The rocket was intercepted by the Iron Dome before it could reach its target: Israeli civilians. We just responded with strikes on Hamas’ underground infrastructure in Gaza. Israel’s target: Terror”, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit tweeted.
Code Red rocket alert sirens sounded Friday night in Sderot, Ivim, Nir Am, Or Haner and Erez.
Local residents reported hearing at least three explosions.
The IDF says one rocket was successfully intercepted by Iron Dome missile defense system.
A 29-year-old woman was lightly injured while running to a bomb shelter in Sderot. She was evacuated to the Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon.
The Islamic Jihad’s Quds Brigades, whose sole mission is to murder Israelis, claimed responsibility for the rocket attack.
