Manhunt over: Muslim terrorists who murdered Dvir Sorek captured alive
BREAKING – Cleared for publication: The Shin Bet, the IDF, and the Israeli police have captured alive two Muslim terrorists who brutally murdered 19-year-old IDF soldier and Yeshiva student Dvir Sorek on Thursday.
The two Muslim terrorists were identified as 24-year-old Nazir Saleh Khalil Atafra and 30-year-old Qasem Araf Khalil ‘Aafra both from Beit Kahel, in the Hevron area.
The investigation is still ongoing.
Earlier on Saturday four suspects including the wife of one of the terrorists, were arrested during a massive raid in the Arab village of Beit Khalil, north of Hevron.
According to Arab reports, the troops arrested four members of the Asafrah family.
During the arrest, Qasem’s car, in which they carried out the terror attack, was also confiscated.
Violent Muslim riots broke out during the arrests, with Muslim terrorists throwing rocks at IDF troops operating in the area. The IDF responded with crowd dispersal measures.
PM Netanyahu praised the Shin Bet and the security forces for arresting the Muslim terrorists who murdered Dvir, only 48 hours after the murder.
“Our forces always catch those who harm Israelis. We will keep on fighting terrorism on all fronts”, Netanyahu said.
On Friday, PM Netanyahu said that security forces are closing in on the terrorist cell which murdered Dvir Sorek.
“We’re going to catch these murderers. According to a report I just received within the last hour, we’re closing in on them. It won’t take very long,” Netanyahu said.
Dvir was a student at a religious seminary in the Jewish community of Migdal Oz, and had joined the IDF while continuing his studies, in a program known in Hebrew as “hesder”, which combines Torah studies with military service.
Dvir’s body was found with multiple stab wounds in the early hours of the morning on the side of a road near the seminary where he studied. The soldier was neither armed nor in uniform when his body was found.
The terror attack was carried out as Dvir was making his way from the square near the entrance to the Jewish community of Efrat to the nearby community of Migdal Oz.
The Muslim terrorists are believed to have followed Dvir in a vehicle before murdering him and fleeing the scene.
