Libya: At least 43 killed, dozens injured in drone attack at wedding ceremony
At least 43 people were murdered and dozens injured after a drone bombed a wedding ceremony in southwestern Libya.
Reports said mercenaries loyal to war criminal Khalifa Haftar launched the attack on Sunday in the town of Murzuq.
The strike came about a month after another attack killed at least 40 people in a migrant detention center in a suburb of the capital, Tripoli.
Libya was plunged into chaos following the 2011 ouster and killing of its leader, Moammar Qaddafi, and the country is now governed by rival governments in the west and the east.
Nearly 1,100 people have been reported killed since Haftar, based in eastern Libya, launched an offensive against the capital Tripoli on April 4.
On Saturday, Libya’s UN-recognised Government of National Accord (GNA) said it had downed an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of Haftar’s forces.
