“Don’t put your lives in danger”: Iran’s Revolutionary Guards threaten UK warship
BREAKING: Iran’s Revolutionary Guards terror group has released audio and video of its naval unit threatening a British Royal Navy warship to stay out of their way, during the capture of a UK-flagged oil tanker and the kidnapping of its crew in the Persian Gulf earlier this month.
The video, published by the semi-official Tasnim news agency, contains footage of the capture of the tanker, showing IRGC terrorists abseiling onto the deck from a helicopter, with the audio recording superimposed.
The British warship HMS Montrose (F-236) is heard declaring its position “in the vicinity of international waters” as it escorted the oil tanker Stena Impero.
“This is the IRGC Navy patrol boat, don’t put your life in danger” the Iranian operator is heard threatening the British warship as it tries to prevent the tanker’s seizure.
“The tanker … is under my control,” the IRGC terrorist continues. “You are ordered to not interfere in my operation.”
The video also features aerial footage from the standoff recorded by an Iranian surveillance drone flying over the area.
Britain last week started sending a warship to protect all British-flagged vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, a change in policy announced on Thursday after the government previously said it did not have resources to do so.
Iran recently started enriching uranium beyond a limit established in a 2015 nuclear agreement with world powers, a deal from which Trump withdrew. Trump has since intensified economic sanctions on Tehran, and tensions have escalated.
