16-year-old Arab stabbed by his Muslim brother outside LGBT shelter in Tel Aviv

A 16-year-old Arab-Israeli boy is in serious condition after his Muslim brother attempted to murder him over his sexual orientation.

The youth was stabbed at the entrance to the Beit Dror shelter for LGBT youths in Tel Aviv, where he was staying.

He told paramedics that his brother tried to kill him in an honor killing because of his sexual identity.

The youth was taken to Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv, where he was undergoing surgery.

The LGBTQ youth organization Iggy responded to the attack describing it as “a hate crime” against the community.

Police are searching for the attacker.
