PM Netanyahu warns Iran: Our F-35 jets can reach you
During a meeting with F-35 pilots, PM Netanyahu said that Israel’s F-35 fighter jets “can reach anywhere in the Middle East,” in response to threats by Iranian officials in recent days.
“Iran has recently been threatening Israel’s destruction. They should remember that these planes can reach anywhere in the Middle East, including Iran and definitely Syria,” Netanyahu said during a visit at the Nevatim airbase.
Netanyahu’s comments come amid escalating tensions in the region, with Tehran raising its enrichment of uranium beyond the limit set by its 2015 nuclear deal with world powers and downing an American military drone.
PM Netanyahu on Sunday addressed the Iranian announcement regarding enrichment of uranium beyond the limit set by the nuclear deal.
“Iran has violated its solemn promise under the U.N. Security Council not to enrich uranium beyond a certain level,” Netanyahu said.
“I call on my friends, the heads of France, Britain, and Germany – you signed this deal and you said that as soon as they take this step, severe sanctions will be imposed – that was the Security Council resolution. Where are you?”
“The enrichment of uranium is made for one reason and one reason only – it’s for the creation of atomic bombs,” Netanyahu added.
