Hamas smuggled bomb expert into Israel, under the guise of humanitarian patient
Cleared for publication: The Shin Bet reveals that the heads of Hamas’ armed wing Izz a-Din al-Qassam in Gaza attempted to smuggle a Muslim terrorist expert in explosives who had been trained to manufacture bombs, in order to massacre Israelis.
According to the Shin Bet, the Muslim terrorist was trained for about a year to set up a bomb laboratory in Judea and Samaria.
Muslim terrorist Fadi Abu al-Sabah, a 35-year-old resident of the Nuseirat neighborhood in Gaza, was arrested in Taibeh by the Shin Bet and the Israel Police on May 18, 2019.
The Muslim terrorist expert in explosive devices entered with a humanitarian permit for medical treatment in Israel after paying a Gazan doctor for phony medical documents that would indicate he cannot receive proper treatment in Gaza for his injury.
He was recruited to set up an explosive manufacturing laboratory by Ashraf Sabah, a 37-year-old Hamas terrorist from Gaza who had been released from prison in Israel in 2015 after serving 12 years in prison for his involvement in terror attacks against IDF forces along the Gaza border and planning other terror attacks.
Before leaving to receive medical treatment, Fadi received a coat with a hidden piece of cloth with codes for encrypted communication between Hamas in Gaza and the terrorists in Judea and Samaria.
