Israel arrests PA minister for Jerusalem who joined Chilean president on Temple Mount
Israeli security forces arrested the Palestinian Authority minister for Jerusalem affairs Fadi al-Hadmi after raiding his home, days after he accompanied Chilean president Sebastian Pinera and his delegation to the Temple Mount.
The forces raided Hadmi’s home Friday night and confiscated his cellphone before arresting him.
Last Tuesday, Hadami was seen alongside Chilean President Sebastian Pinera on a tour of the Jewish holy site, enraging Israel since it constituted a violation of regulations and a breach of understandings reached with Santiago for the head of the state’s visit.
On Wednesday, Israel’s Foreign Ministry reprimanded Pinera and later in the day the ministry said it had received a formal letter of apology from the Chilean Embassy explaining that the Chilean president and his delegation were not aware and did not agree to be formally accompanied by PA officials during their visit to the Temple Mount.
