Watch: 19 Muslim terrorists arrested as Jerusalem riots enter third day
19 terrorists were arrested and at least 90 Muslim rioters were wounded by foam-tipped bullets in Arab neighborhoods of East Jerusalem early Saturday morning, as violent riots that broke out following the elimination of a convicted terrorist, have now entered into their third day.
On Friday, an Israeli court denied a request by the terrorist’s family to release his carcass.
Riots broke out Thursday night when 22-year-old Muslim terrorist Mohammed Abid was shot and eliminated after shooting fireworks at security forces during a counter-terrorism operation in Issawyia.
The masked terrorist emerged in one of the alleys and set off the fireworks from close range posing a real and immediate danger to the policemen’s lives, the force said in a statement. One of the officers targeted the terrorist, neutralizing the danger.
Abid was a known Muslim terrorist who served a five-year sentence for plotting to carry out a shooting attack and was recently released from prison.
Over the past few weeks police have entered Issawiya on a nightly basis in a bid to track down Muslim terrorists members of a PLO terror cell believed to be at large in the neighborhood.
On Thursday night, Isawiyah’s community administration building – seen by local Arabs as a symbol of cooperation between the neighborhood and the Israeli authorities – was burned down completely.
Muslim terrorists reinitiated the riots on Friday after mosque, and continued throughout the night, turning Arab neighborhoods of East Jerusalem into a war zone.
