Jerusalem: Muslim terrorist eliminated after shooting fireworks at security forces – Violent riots underway
BREAKING: A Muslim terrorist was shot and eliminated after shooting fireworks at security forces during a counter-terrorism operation in the Isawyia neighborhood of East Jerusalem.
The masked terrorist emerged in one of the alleys and set off the fireworks from close range posing a real and immediate danger to the policemen’s lives, the force said in a statement.
One of the officers targeted the terrorist, neutralizing the danger.
He has been identified as 22-year-old Mohammed Obaid, a known Muslim terrorist who has been arrested in the past for plotting to carry out a shooting attack and was recently released from prison.
Security forces and medical personnel came under attack by the terrorist’s family following his death at Hadassah Har Hatzofim hospital in Jerusalem.
Violent Muslim riots reportedly underway in Silwan, Isawyia, Wadi Joz, al-Ram and a-Tur neighborhoods of Jerusalem. IDF and Border Police forces are responding with crowd dispersal measures.
Over the past few weeks police have entered Isawiya on a nightly basis in a bid to track down Muslim terrorists members of a PLO terror cell believed to be at large in the neighborhood.
The counter-terrorism operations have led to violent riots with terrorists throwing rocks, firebombs, paint cans and fireworks at Police forces.
The IDF arrested 11 Muslim terrorists overnight in Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley, who were wanted for involvement in terrorism and violent disorders directed against civilians and security personnel.
Muslim terrorists threw firebombs at IDF troops operating near the Arab village of al-Aroub in Gush Etzion. The forces identified the terrorists and responded with live fire.
In addition, explosive devices were thrown at IDF forces during a counter-terrorism operation in the Arab village of Tubas in the Jordan Valley. The IDF responded with crowd dispersal measures.
