Fires broke out in Israel due to incendiary devices launched by Muslim terrorists from Gaza
Two fires broke out today in southern Israel due to firebombs attached to balloons, launched by Muslim terrorists from Gaza into Israel with the aim of destroying wildlife, people’s food and livelihoods, as Jews celebrate the harvest holiday of Shavuot.
Multiple fire department units dealt with fires in the Beeri Forest, near Kibbutz Beeri in the Eshkol Regional Council area.
⚠️ Police warn Israelis not to touch burning kites, tires or incendiary balloons and immediately report them to the police emergency line.
Israelis and Jews around the world are celebrating the harvest festival of Shavuot today.
Shavuot, coming exactly seven weeks after Passover, is the holiday which celebrates the day when the Jews received the Torah on Mt. Sinai, thereby becoming a unified nation. It is also celebrated as the holiday when the first wheat harvest is carried out. Dairy products such as cheesecake are traditionally eaten on the holiday.
In Israel, the agricultural holiday is primarily celebrated on kibbutzim and moshavim.
Tens of thousands of people are celebrating the holiday at national parks, beaches and nature reserves around the country.
