Arson terrorism continues: Firefighters battling huge blaze in Samaria
A huge fire broke out Thursday morning in the hills of the Jewish community of Itamar in Samaria.
This is the fourth fire in the past two days. The four blazes are believed to have been started by Muslim terrorists, according to locals.
So far 7000 dunams of agricultural land and grazing fields have been burned. According to estimates, the damage to farmers in the area is NIS 700,000.
Chairman of the Samaria Regional Council Yossi Dagan said: “The heart is broken to see thousands of dunams of farmland and pastures being burned, I demand that the matter be investigated and that the culprits be found and prosecuted.”
“The farmers, who dedicate their lives to work the land and make the desert bloom, cannot be the last in the food chain. They must be helped and the setting of fires must be stopped in every possible way,” Dagan added.
