Hamas terror group begs for Bitcoin donations to murder Jews
Hamas armed wing Izz ad-Din al-Qassam, whose sole mission is to murder Israelis, will launch tomorrow a fundraising campaign via Bitcoin.
Muslim terrorist Abu Obeida, spokesman for Izz ad-Din al-Qassam, said the terror group will send millions of SMS in eight languages, begging for money to murder Jews, mainly using crypto-currency.
Hamas is encouraging its terror-sympathizers to use the crypto-coin in order to blur traces and make it difficult for authorities to locate donors who provide material support to a designated terror group.
The Gaza-based terror group, which is proscribed as a terrorist organization by the US and the EU, began calling on its Muslim terror-fans to donate using the digital currency in a fundraising campaign announced online in late January.
The terror group has since changed the donation mechanism, with its website generating a new digital wallet with every transaction. This makes it harder for companies around the world to keep tabs on the group’s cryptocurrency financing, researchers said.
A single digital wallet can be red-flagged to cryptocurrency exchanges, in theory allowing them to prevent funds moving through their systems to that destination. But a different wallet for each donation makes this so-called tagging far more complicated.
