Lebanon: 15 terrorists attempt to invade Israel near Metula – Israeli spy device detonated
Some 15 Lebanese terrorists gathered near the Israeli border fence in the area of Metula Monday, two of whom attempted to scale the fence and damage it.
The IDF responded with tear gas and crowd dispersed means. No injuries reported.
In addition, Arabs report that Hezbollah terror group detonated an Israeli spy device planted in Nmeyreye Valley in south Lebanon.
The Lebanese Army was reportedly closing the area and searching for additional devices.
Israel voiced openness on Monday to US-mediated talks with Lebanon on resolving a dispute over the neighbors’ maritime border that has dogged Mediterranean oil and gas exploration.
Such talks, Israeli Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz’s office said in a statement after he met US envoy David Satterfield, could be “for the good of both countries’ interests in developing natural gas reserves and oil” by agreeing on a border.
