Israel targets Syrian launcher in response to attack at IAF fighter jet

Syrian anti-aircraft systems fires at Israeli fighter jet - IAF targets launcher in response

BREAKING: Syrian anti-aircraft systems fired at an IAF fighter jet during a routine flight in northern Israel. The anti-air projectile landed in Syrian territory and the mission was completed as planned.

In response, a short while ago, the IAF targeted the launcher that had fired.

“The IDF sees any threat against its aircraft with great severity and takes measures to defend them”, the Israeli Air Force tweeted.

According to Arab reports, an SAA officer was killed and another two wounded in retaliatory strikes near Khan Arnabeh, in the Quneitra area near the Golan border.

The Syrian state TV al-Ikhbariya said one military vehicle was also damaged.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commented on the incident saying: “Our policy is clear: We will not tolerate any aggression toward us and we will respond forcefully.”

Israel does not usually comment on reports concerning its strikes in neighboring Syria, though it has recently acknowledged striking Iranian targets there.
