Muslim terrorist arrested, NIS 850,000 to murder Jews and weapons seized in Hevron area
Border Police and IDF forces from the Combat Engineering Corps operated early Tuesday morning in the Arab village of as-Samu in the Hevron area, following intelligence gathered about weapons and large amounts of money used to finance terrorism.
As part of the counter-terrorism operation, the forces raided a house in which three airsoft guns, a stolen motorcycle and some NIS 850,000 ($235,000) were found in cash.
A 20-year-old Muslim terrorist was arrested and turned over to security agencies for further investigation.
The police said that “the police and the IDF will continue to work to reduce the illegal weapons and will continue to arrest criminals and terrorists.”
In addition, the IDF arrested four Muslim terrorists overnight in Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley, who were wanted for involvement in terrorism and violent disorders directed against civilians and security personnel.
A terror attack was thwarted Tuesday morning at the Qalandiya checkpoint, north of Jerusalem. Border Police sappers were called to neutralize a pipe bomb found on the Palestinian Authority side of the crossing.
