Sri Lanka: 3 Muslim terrorists blow themselves up as security forces raid an ISIS bomb factory
Three explosions rocked Kalmunai city of Sri Lanka on Friday while security forces were carrying out a counter-terrorism operation to nab Muslim terrorists behind the Easter Sunday massacre.
Local media reports that three Muslim terrorists blew themselves up at the beginning of a major gunfight when security personnel, including the military, attempted to raid a location used for the manufacture of suicide vests.
During the raids, the Sri Lankan police recovered ISIS uniforms, ISIS flags, 150 Gelignite sticks, 100,000 ball bearings and a drone camera in Sammanthurai.
‘Troops retaliated and raided the safe house where a large cache of explosives had been stored,’ a military spokesman said in a statement.
He said the terrorists were members of the National Towheed Jama’at (NTJ), which has been blamed for last Sunday’s attacks.
On April 21, Muslim terrorists murdered approximately 253 Christians, hotel guests, and foreign tourists in a series of eight coordinated terror attacks in three churches and three luxury hotels in and around the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo.
The mastermind of the coordinated terror attacks is believed to have been Inshaf Ibrahim.
Wealthy brothers Inshaf and Ilham Ibrahim walked into the luxury Shangri-La and Cinnamon Grand hotels and detonated their suicide vests as guests were eating breakfast on Easter Sunday.
Another bomber blew himself up inside the Shangri-la hotel as terrified locals and tourists tried to flee the carnage from the first blast.
The brothers are the sons of Mohamed Ibrahim, who along with another of his sons, are among the 58 Muslim terrorists being currently questioned by police.
His spice company Ishana Exports, which boasts about being the largest exporter of spices in Sri Lanka since 2006, turned him into a multi-millionaire.
The suicide bombers are thought to have used “Mother of Satan” TATP, chemically known as triacetone triperoxide, an explosive made from commonly available household ingredients including nail polish remover – acetone – and hydrogen peroxide.
According to reports, they made the stuff in a copper factory in Wellampitiya, a suburb of Colombo.
The factory belonged to ‘calm and devout Muslim’ terrorist Inshaf Ahamad, who is believed to have blown himself up at the Shangri-La Hotel.
