According to first reports, three rockets were fired from Khan Younis. One of the rockets exploded in an open area, causing no damage or casualties.
Missiles hit the Khan Younis port, the Hamas’ Yarmouk site in southern Gaza. Initial reports of strikes on al-Sharqiya site of Izz ad-Din al-Qassam east of Khan Younis and near the Islamic University.
Arabs report strikes on Qassam’s Abu Hamisha terror site in eastern Khan Younis.
Additional code red alert sirens sounded in Ashkelon shortly after the attacks.
The IDF confirmed that Israeli fighter jets and aircraft bombed a number of terror targets at a compound belonging to Hamas in southern Gaza in retaliation for rockets fired by Muslim terrorists into Israeli territory and the continued terror attacks along the Gaza border.

According to initial reports, three rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system. No damage or casualties.
“Following a report on an alarm in the Ashkelon industrial zone, one rocket was identified from Gaza into Israeli territory and was intercepted by the Iron Dome defense system”, the IDF said in a statement.
Reports suggest that PM Netanyahu was in the Kirya military base in Tel Aviv observing the current IDF operation.
According to Arab reports, Hamas armed wing Izz ad-Din al-Qassam and al-Quds terrorists are preparing long-range missiles for launch towards central Israel.
Israeli towns in southern Israel slowly returned to normal on Tuesday. Defense officials say that the danger of an escalation has passed for the time being, with Israel and Hamas reportedly reaching an informal ceasefire.
Following Hamas’s rocket attacks, PM and Defense Minister Netanyahu held today consultations with IDF Chief-of-Staff Lt.-Gen. Aviv Kochavi, ISA Director Yoram Cohen, NSC Director Meir Ben-Shabbat and senior IDF and security officials.
