Sgt Gal Kaidan HY”D named as IDF soldier murdered by Muslim terrorists in Samaria
Sgt. Gal Kaidan, (19), from the southern city of Beer Sheva, is the IDF soldier who was murdered by Muslim terrorists in a combined shooting and stabbing attack at the Ariel Junction in Samaria.
Sgt. Gal was a member of the Artillery Corps, from the 334th battalion. He will be laid to rest at 11am Monday at the military cemetery in his hometown.
A vehicle with at least two Muslim terrorists arrived Sunday morning at the Ariel Junction. One of the terrorists stabbed Sgt. Gal Kaidan and shot him with his own gun.
The terrorists then shot another man, apparently a foreign national, stole his car and fled the scene.
They drove to a bus stop at Gitai Avishar Junction, where they shot Rabbi Ahiad Ettinger, aged 47, a resident of the Jewish community of Eli and a father of 12, before fleeing the scene in the direction of Barkan.
Doctors at Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikvah were fighting to save the rabbi’s life after he was left in critical condition in the shooting attack.
A second IDF soldier was taken to the Beilinson Hospital in critical condition.
The IDF launched a massive manhunt for the Muslim terrorists behind the terror attack.
IDF forces entered to the Arab village of Burkin and are engaged in fire exchanges with the Muslim terrorists. The stolen car used in the terror attack was found abandoned at the Brukin Junction.
Muslim terror-sympathizers in the area were reportedly encouraged to take down security cameras in order to make the hunt for the terrorists more difficult.
Security forces then began checks of every vehicle driving on the road, fearing that the terrorists would try to reach central Israel in another vehicle.
“We are in the midst of pursuing these terrorists,” said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting. “I am sure they will be captured and brought to justice, just as others who committed similar attacks.”
