Muslim terrorist behind Ofra, Givat Assaf shooting attacks charged with 3 counts of murder
The Judea Military Court charged Assem Barghouti, one of the Muslim terrorists who carried out the shooting attacks near the Jewish communities of Ofra and Givat Assaf, with three counts of murder.
Muslim terrorist Assem Barghouti, from the Barghouti clan of jihadists, is being charged with the murder of St.-Sgt. Yuval Mor Yosef and Sgt. Yosef Cohen, who were murdered in the Givat Assaf shooting, and with the murder of Amiad Israel Ish-Ran — a 7-month baby born prematurely who died three days after he was born during an emergency operation after his mother was severely wounded in a terror attack near the Jewish community of Ofra.
Assem’s brother, Salah, who carried out the Ofra attack, was shot and eliminated by security forces during an attempt to arrest him later same week.
Their 17-year-old brother Mohammed was arrested for involvement in the terror attacks.
Assem Barghouti was arrested in the Arab village of Abu Shukheidim, north of Ramallah, at the home of one of Barghouti’s accomplices following intensive intelligence collection by the Shin Bet, Border Police, and IDF forces.
Assem Barghouti, originally from the terror nest of Kobar, comes from a Hamas-affiliated family of Jihadists. He had spent 11 years in Israeli prisons over terrorism-related crimes, including planning to abduct soldiers.
Assem, Salah and Mohammed are sons of Omar Barghouti, a senior Hamas terrorist who spent 28 years in Israeli prisons.
Suheir Barghouti, the jihadi mother of Mohammed, Assem, and Salah Barghouti, and the wife of one of the terrorists were arrested last month for failing to prevent the terror attacks.
