According to Arab sources, 25 Muslim terrorists were arrested. Contrary to these reports, the Israel Police said it only arrested two Muslim terrorists (among them a PA official) over fraud, forgery, and embezzlement.
Arabs identified the PA’s governor of Jerusalem, Adnan Geith, as the official arrested, and said he was arrested at his home in Silwan.
Hundreds of Muslim rioters broke into the Mercy Gate on Friday, a large structure on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount that was closed several years ago based on a court order because the group running the area was found to have ties to Hamas. It has been kept closed to stop illegal construction work by the Waqf.
Nonetheless, it remains unclear whether the arrests are related to the fact that the compound had been broken into.
