10 wanted terrorists arrested overnight in Judea, Samaria, Jordan Valley – Weapons seized
The IDF arrested 10 Muslim terrorists overnight in Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley, who were wanted for involvement in terrorism and violent disorders directed against civilians and security personnel.
Two senior members of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror group were arrested near Jenin. One of the arrested terrorists, Khader Adnan, who is known for his hunger strikes while vacationing in Israeli prisons, is the spokesperson for the Iranian-backed terror group.
The terrorists were turned over to security agencies for further investigation.
In addition, as part of an ongoing campaign against illegal weapons, the IDF, Border Police, and the Israeli Police seized a local-made Carlo submachine gun in the Arab village of Beit Ummar in the Hevron area.
Border Police and IDF forces from the Jordan Valley regional brigade thwarted on February 7 the smuggling of dozens of handguns from Jordan into Israeli territory, it was cleared for publication on Sunday.
Four Muslim terrorists from Shechem, the smuggler and three others who were waiting in two vehicles, were arrested.
Earlier on Sunday, Police officers operating at the Meggido Junction in northern Israel, stopped a suspicious vehicle whose passengers attempted to smuggle M-16 rifles from the Palestinian Authority into Israel.
